Susanna Gregorian was born in Armenia. Her exceptional talent was foto 04discovered early on, she was encouraged accordingly. At the tender age of seven, she entered Irina Svetlova's violin class at the music school of the Gnessin Institute for the exceptionally talented in Moscow. From 1986 to 1993 she studied with Maia Glesarova at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. Following her stay at the Prague Mozart Academy, she took courses with Gabor Takas-Nagy, Sandor Vegh, Kristoph Jakovitz, Charles Rosen and Boris Pergamenshikov. Since 1994, Susanna has been living in Cologne, where she was a member of Saschko Gavrilov's violin class at the local conservatory.

While still a student, Susanna Gregorian was a Concert Master of the conservatory orchestra, and, from 1991, also the Concert Master of the Russian-German Youth Orchestra, which has been playing all over the world under the baton of such renowned conductors as Zubin Mehta, Dmitri Kitaenko, Valeri Gergiev and  Mstislav Rostropovitch. Between 1992 and 2000 she was a Concert Master with the Philharmonia of the Nations conducted by its founder Justus Frantz - pianist and conductor. At the same time she performed as the Leader with different orchestras, such as the London Symphony Orchestra and the Covent Garden Orchestra at the Royal Opera House.

She found broad popularity performing as a soloist for a ZDF programme "Achtung Klassik!" In addition, she took part in international festivals, including the "Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival," the "Festival des Jeunes Interpretes" (France) and the "Gubbio Music Festival" (Italy).

susanna gregorian awards 02In 1992 Susanna Gregorian gave concerts with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra under Loris Tcheknavorian and Leon Gregorian (both from USA).
In 1996 she played in ensemble and made live recordings for WDR (Cologne) with the prominent violist Kim Kashkashian.

In 1997 Susanna Gregorian won the Mozart Award from the Carl Flesch Academy (Baden-Baden) and was awarded first prize at the "International Duet Competition for violin and piano in memory of Christian Ferras and Pierre Barbizet" in Marseille (France). In 1999, she won third prize in the International Viotti Competition in Italy.

In 1998 Susanna Gregorian gave recitals and chamber concerts on Japan tour along with the soloists of the Moscow Conservatory, K.Rodin, N.Erasova, S.Dorensky...

In 1999 Susanna Gregorian took part at the Oldenburg Musical Festival where she played chamber music with Dmitry Sitkovetsky. In the same year she gave a solo concert in the Grand Hall of Moscow Conservatory with the "Philharmonia of the Nations".foto 17

In 2002 she released her first solo CD of works by W.A. Mozart (concerts for violin KV 216 and KV 219) as well as Alfred Schnittke's "Moz-Art" onTelos-Music-Records. In 2004 she recorded her second CD of works by A. Khachaturian, E. Bagdasarian, E. Mirzoyan and Komitas.
In summer 2003 she gave concerts at the 11 International Festival "Stars of the White Nights" in St. Petersburg as the Leadernder V. Gergiev (conducting). Later on recital and chamber concerts at the "Finca Sommer Festival, Justus Frantz" in Gran Canaria.

In 2004 followed concerts in London, at Barbican Center and Europe tour dedicated  to the 80th anniversary of  Pierre Boulez (conducting), with the London Symphony Orchestra as the Associate Leader; then same following tour to the USA, New York in January 2005 with concerts in Carnegie Hall.

In May 2005  Susanna was invited to play Arutiunian Violin concerto in LSO St.Luke's, London, dedicated to 90-th Memory of Armenian Genocide with "The Sinfonietta" Johan M. Katz conducting.

In 2006 Susanna toured through New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, also in summer 2000 tour to UK and Scotland with "Cologne New Philharmonic, Volker Hartung" with solo programm I. S. Bach. Violin concertos in a-moll, E-dur and A.Vivaldi "Le Quattro Stagioni".

During year 2007 Susanna has successful tours in Australia with concert in Sydney Opera House – A. Vivaldi ”Quattro Stagioni”, Canada, UK, Ireland and Spain in Palau de la Musica in Valencia with Volker Hartung, conductor. She played by live-Interview on BBC classic program in Foyle, Ireland. In same year she gave solo concerts together with Yuri Bashmet and Moscow Soloists Chamber orchestra.

Susanna Gregorian ValenciaIn March 2008 Susanna gave a successful Debut-recital at the Wigmore Hall London, UK.

Since October 2008 Susanna become a Professor member of "Orquestra de la comunitat Valenciana" in Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia - First Violin, under Maestro Lorin Maazel - Musical director and conductor and Zubin Mehta.

During  the  period 2009 - 2012 Susanna gave a numerous concerts and  recitals at the Cultural Center La Beneficiencia - Diputacio  de Valencia, as a soloist with Symphony Orchestra de Torrent city  with Triple Concerto Op. 56  by L. van Beethoven, then as soloist and conductor at the event "Puertas Abiertas" in Grand Auditorium Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia with a program Eight Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi and Astor Piazzolla with Chamber Orchestra of Palau Les Arts; Concert on the II Yuri Bashmet's Winter Festival in Sochi, Russia with Moscow Soloists Chamber Orchestra; following chamber music concerts at the III Festival de Mediterrani with maestro Zubin Mehta.

In summer 2012 Susanna gave chamber concerts and masterclasses as a Professor on International Music Festival - Rambleta in Valencia. In  September '12 played a concert memory of Joaquin Rodrigo in company with Jose Maria Gallardo - guitar, at the I International Festival in Cullera, Spain.

Susanna Gregorian has made broadcast recordings for Radio Moscow, West German Radio (WDR), Radio Suisse Romande and CD recordings with different accompanists and orchestras. In addition, she is a dedicated chamber musician performing all around the world.

Susanna Gregorian plays on a Januarius Gagliano violin from 1745.
